What to do and what not to do.
First and foremost you must keep you neck in good postural position. It is imperative! That is, make sure your head is not pushed forward in a protruded position. An easy way to check this is to see if you were to hang a string from your chin, would the string touch your chest or go straight to the floor. It should be touching your chest. From a side on view your ears should be above your shoulders.
If you don’t do this you face straining the already damaged tissues.
Try to avoid looking down so that you don’t aggravate your condition.
Try to avoid any quick movements.
Don’t do neck rolls.
Don’t listen to well intentioned advice from your friends, cousins, uncles or grandmothers.
Don’t use too many pillows; you don’t want to be putting your head in that protruded position.
Don’t get you buddy down the road to try to crack your neck
Try using a cervical roll to help your neck when you sleep.
Start doing my double chin exercise carefully. Remember, it may be slightly painful to do these but this should reduce in a very short period of time.
