You may be doing everything I have talked about in regards to posture, pain relieving exercises and core strengthening exercises but still be suffering from back pain. It could be your medications!
One of the side effects of certain medications happens to be back pain, joint pains and muscular aches and pains. If you are still in pain, it could be that your medications are causing it. It is definitely worth checking. Obviously I am not saying that you should just stop taking your pills to see what happens without seeking advice from your doctor first. Maybe he can change your pills for alternative ones. Or better still, we have helped many people at the spa decrease or completely remove their dependency on certain drugs. If this is done carefully and professionally it can quite often be accomplished. There are many natural alternatives to taking drugs which are not harmful to your body and do not have all of the side effects that most drugs do.
The next time you are on the internet take a look at the drugs you are using and look at the side effects. It will shock you, the lists are LONG!
Take a look at the side effects of this drug:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); black, tarry, or bloody stools; blurred vision; fainting; fast heartbeat; fever, chills, or persistent sore throat; loss of coordination; mood or mental changes (egg, agitation, depression, irritability); ringing in the ears; seizures; severe or persistent dizziness, drowsiness, or stomach pain; severe or persistent trouble sleeping; shallow or very slow breathing; tremors; unusual bruising or bleeding; vomit that looks like coffee grounds; wheezing.
Vomit that look like coffee grounds!! Good grief!
I am sure you are probably thinking this an extreme case for what is probably an example of a strong drug that only people who are very sick need to take. Well, think again-these are only a few, only a few side effects of the drug known as aspirin! That’s right, these little so-called innocuous pills so readily prescribed by doctors can leave you with bloody stools, seizures, tremors, depression and vomit that looks like coffee grounds to name but a few! Oh yes, you also may have severe or persistent trouble sleeping. I tell you what; if I had these symptoms I would not exactly be sleeping like a bug in a rug either! If you also add to the fact that aspirin also removes many vital nutrients from your body and you see that aspirin is not just a harmless little pill after all.
So let’s get back to your back pain. If you have unresolved back pain or any pains for that matter which is not going away you may like to check with your doctor about these drugs below if you are taking them because they are all linked to back and muscular pains.
- Cholesterol lowering drugs
- Some allergy medicines
- Some prescription depression medications
- Erectile enhancing medications
- Anti-anxiety medications
- Medications for acne, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation and crohn’s disease.
- The drug used as a calcium channel blocker verapamil
- The antibiotics erythromycin and clarithromycin
- And there are more!
If you want to start reducing the medications you are currently taking and I imagine you do, start by talking to a naturopath and see what alternatives there may be available to you.
When it comes to using natural products for pain relief you may like to consider omega 3 or cumin or bromelain or vitamin C instead of your normal dose of ibuprofen. These are all excellent anti-inflammatories, are natural and have a wide range of other benefits to your body apart from just pain relief.
These are side effects that you want!
